Your administrator may have set aside a directory on a remote server for your own personal use. This directory is your home directory.

For a LAN Manager Enhanced workstation, you can assign a drive letter to your home directory with the command:

net use drive: /home

You can use your home directory to store files, create and remove subdirectories, and perform any other tasks that you ordinarily perform with a directory on your workstation. Your administrator can also set LAN Manager permissions for files and subdirectories, allowing other people to use the contents of your home directory. Your administrator can also monitor the disk space used for your home directory.

For information about permissions, see "Net Access" and "Net Use" in Chapter 5, "Enhanced Reference."
