Use the net copy command to copy a file over the network, to or from your workstation, or between servers. The MS-DOS copy command can be used in place of net copy, but net copy is faster when both the source and the destination are on the same server. You can only copy files from the MS-DOS prompt.

To copy a file

  • Type net copy source [destination]

    For example:

    net copy \\product\lists\sales.doc \\product\reports
