If this is a new installation of NetWare/9000 and if you have no other NetWare servers (native NetWare or other NetWare for UNIX servers) and are only installing one NetWare for the HP 9000 server using one NetWare network (on the LAN link), you can use the default configuration values:

  1. Log into the system as root.

  2. At the HP-UX prompt, type: sam

  3. Double click Networking and Communications at the SAM main window.

  4. Double click NetWare at the Networking and Communications window.

  5. Double click File and Print Services Configuration at the NetWare window.

  6. Modify global parameters. The current status of the following global parameters is displayed on the top of the screen: Start Server at Boot, Server status, NWU NetWork Management.

If you wish to modify a global parameter(s), choose Set Global File and Print Services Parameters from the "Actions" menu to open the Set Global File and Print Services Parameters window.

    1. Optionally, enable/disable Start Services at Boot.

    2. Optionally, enable/disable Enable NWU Network Management.

    3. Optionally, Set the Remote Printer Configuration parameters.

    4. Configure the local UNIX printer, if the printer location is an auto load.

When you configure a hybrid user, NetWare creates a mapping between the user's NetWare name and HP-UX name.
