Step 6: Configure NetWare Directory Services (NDS)

  1. At the HP-UX prompt, type: sam

  2. Double click Networking and Communications at the SAM main window.

  3. Double click NetWare at the Networking and Communications window.

  4. Double click NetWare Directory Services at the NetWare window.

  5. Enter the appropriate values for each parameter, advancing the cursor with the <Return> (or <Enter>) key after each value is entered.

    1. Enter the information about the bindery context and TIMESYNC parameters. To do so, press the Tab key to move through the data entry fields.

    2. Configure the NDS Bindery Context. (Use NWAdmin to find the proper location of the NDS tree, if it exists.)

    3. Select the TIMESYNC Server Type.

    4. Optionally, enable/disable TIMESYNC Service Advertising.

    5. Optionally, enable/disable TIMESYNC Direc tory Tree Mode.

    6. Optionally, enable/disable TIMESYNC Configured Sources.

    7. Optionally, configure TIMESYNC Time Source.

    8. Activate the OK button to perform the task(s) and return to the Services Configuration Window.

  6. After you have updated your configuration, return to the NetWare menu in SAM.

  7. Proceed to the next section, "Step 7: Start NetWare 4.1."
