You will need to change the default configuration if you have other Native NetWare servers or additional NetWare for 9000 servers. Use the File Server Worksheet instructions to determine whether or not you need to update any (or all) of the configuration items.

You must change the default configuration if:

  • You have another NetWare 9000 server using the default configuration.

  • Your network configuration requires using a frame type other than the default provided which is Ethernet 802.2.

  • You are setting up NetWare over a token ring network cable.

  • You want to change the NetWare file server name (default is HOSTNAME).

To add another network, for example, add another LAN card or token ring card, or to run two frame types over the one LAN card, see Chapter 8, "Managing NetWare" for more information.

To change the NVT server name, refer to Chapter 8, "Managing NetWare".

To configure an IP Tunnelling network, refer to Chapter 8, "Managing NetWare".

To configure a NetWare/IP network, refer to Chapter 8, "Managing NetWare".
