Alteon switches have 8 ports. Fiber blades support 1500 and 9000 MTU (jumbo frames). The following interactive dialog describes how to establish a console connection:

switchname 1
Username>username 2
switchname(37)>> sh po all 3
switchname(37)>> c alteon1 4
Password: password 5

1	Open a Console window.
2	Log in to the switch.
3	Find the service name.
4	Link to the serial port.
5	Enter the administrator password.
