Software Requirements

  • Oracle database

    This release of HP Domain Commerce does not include the Oracle database software required by vPOS. You can purchase the database software directly from Oracle Corporation.

Hardware Requirements

  • HP 9000 Computer System

  • At least 256 MB of memory

  • CD-ROM drive to load the software

Operating System Requirements

  • HP-UX 10.20

Disk Space Requirements (Estimated)

  • At least 2 GB (this includes the space needed for the Oracle database)

    For the example provided in the HP Domain Commerce Installation Guide, you will need to allocate the following amount of disk space to the specified directories (this disk space is included in the 2 GB estimate):

Installation Requirements

  • Root login to run swinstall

Other Requirements

  • You will need to configure specific HP-UX kernel parameters in order to use the Oracle database software. For a list of the kernel parameters and recommended values, refer to the online HTML guide, Oracle7 Server Installation Guide for HP 9000 Series 700/800, located in the oracle/orainst/doc/platform/doc/IG73 directory. Specifically, the kernel parameters to configure are listed in the file ch3.html.
