Overview of Installation Steps

A high-level view of the steps for installing the HP RAID 4Si product is as follows:

Plan your disk configurations (see “Planning Your Disk Configurations”).
Check the installation prerequisites (see “Checking HP RAID 4Si Installation Prerequisites”).
Install the software (see “Installing the HP RAID 4Si Software”).
Install the controller (see “Installing the HP RAID 4Si Controller”).
Upgrade the controller firmware, if necessary (see “Upgrading the Controller Firmware”).
Set the DIP switches on the SC10 enclosure (see “Setting the DIP Switches”).
Connect the JBODs (see “Connecting the Disks”).
Label the cables connecting the JBODs to the controller (see “Labeling the Cables”).
Verify the installation (see “Verifying the Installation”).
