Based on the physical disk configuration plans you made earlier (see “Planning Your Disk Configurations”), connect the HP RAID 4Si controller's channels to the appropriate Bus Controller Cards (BCCs) in the SC10(s).

NOTE: The adjacent connectors (0-2, 1-3) are very close together, so when you use the adjacent connectors you must use cables with offset connectors. All currently shipping cables for use with this controller use the offset connectors. The cables can be ordered at http://www.bstore.hp.com or from an authorized reseller.

Connectors are referred to as A, B, C, and D on the controller, but are referred to as 0, 1, 2, and 3, respectively, by irmd.

Remember that the HP RAID 4Si controller supports only SCSI disk drives (no tape drives).

TIP: Be sure to avoid the configuration errors described in “Common Misconfigurations”.

After you have connected all of the controllers and JBODs, go to the next section, “Labeling the Cables”.
