To start IRM, follow these steps:

  1. Be sure the directory /usr/sbin/irm is in your PATH statement.

  2. Type this command to start IRM:

    The "Management Menu" displays.

From the "Management Menu," you can select these actions:

  • Configure—Configure arrays and logical drives.

  • Objects—Configure parameters for a controller, logical drive, physical drive, SCSI channel, and the battery backup.

  • Rebuild—Rebuild a physical drive that has failed.

  • Check Consistency—Check the consistency of the data across the logical drive stripes.

  • Advanced Menu—Reconstruct a logical drive, by adding one or more physical drives or changing the RAID level.

  • Select Adapter—Select the HP RAID 4Si controller you want to view or configure.

NOTE: This action displays only if two or more HP RAID 4Si controllers are installed in the system.
