You can clear the entire current
configuration for the controller, which deletes all arrays, logical drives, and Hot
Spares, and the related parameters from the controller's
NVRAM and the physical disks (the data is still on the disks, though).

 |
 | TIP: If you clear the configuration and you later need to restore
the configuration, you will have to enter all of the same configuration information—arrays
and logical drives, the RAID level, the stripe size, etc.—again.
So, be sure you have a hardcopy of the configuration (see “Creating
a Hardcopy Record of the Configuration”). |

The steps to clear the controller's configuration
are described below. Note that these steps
assume you have started IRM and (if applicable) selected the HP
RAID 4Si controller whose configuration you want to clear.
Menu path: "Management
Menu" → Configure → Clear Configuration
You are asked to confirm that you want to clear the existing configuration.
If you do not want
to continue, highlight NO and press the Enter key; you are placed back in the "Configure" menu.
Go to step 2.
If you want to continue, highlight YES and press the Enter key. The entire configuration is deleted. After the configuration
has been deleted, a confirmation message displays. Press any key
to continue. You are placed back in the "Configure" menu;
go to step 2.
Press Esc; you are placed back in the "Management Menu."
Press Esc; an exit confirmation dialog box displays.
Highlight YES and press Enter; IRM ends.
