If you choose not to create the principal database during installation, you must do so before configuring the Security Server. To do this, use the following command:

kdb_create -s

NOTE: kdb_create, by default, uses the 3DES encrypted database.

For those of you using the older version, HP's Kerberos Server V 1.0, and wish to migrate their Principal Database to the new version, HP's Kerberos Server V 2.0, can do so. Refer to Chapter 3 “Migration”.
