SecurID users must be configured in the AAA Server configuration files. The SecurID Authentication-Type is used to configure users for SecurID authentication. Users and realms can be configured with the SecurID Authentication-Type.

The following example shows how a SecurID user might be configured in the users file:

Jdoe Authentication-Type = SecurID
Service-Type = Framed,
Framed-Protocol = PPP

The Service-Type and Framed-Protocol attributes are reply items that are passed back to the requesting RADIUS client or server.

The next example shows how a realm might be configured to allow SecurID authentication:

yourcompany.com -PW SecurID anystring
NOTE: The realm yourcompany.com is defined with the default -PW option. CHAP authentication is not supported with the SecurID Authentication-Type. SecurID does not require that a DNS name, IP address, or file name be specified as the additional parameter for an authfile entry, but it does require that the position be filled with a value (anystring).
