The vendors file contains a list of zero or more vendor entries.
Each vendor entry contains a vendor name and vendor number. The
vendor
numbers are SMI Network Management Private Enterprise Code numbers,
as managed by IANA. Each entry optionally contains an interim way
of mapping external (with respect to the Diameter server) attribute
numbers to internal (with respect to the Diameter server) vendor-specific attributes.
This optional mapping is used on Diameter requests and responses.

You can track different versions of the vendors file by adding
the following line to the file:

vendor-name
- attribute-string
an optional string that defaults to Attribute when
not specified. Non-default strings may be used to specify vendor
specific attributes in the dictionary file.
- value-string
an optional string that defaults to Value when not
specified. Non-default strings may be used to specify vendor specific
values in the dictionary file.
- vendor-code
the private enterprise number assigned by IANA.
- vendor-name
the vendor name that can appear in the clients file
as a type=vendor:nas entry or in the dictionary and users files
in vendor specific attribute names.
