Log File Error Messages

“Couldn't get our own IP address(es) message”

You will need to check your DNS server for the configuration of your Mobile AAA server. This error message usually indicates that you don't have an entry for the Mobile AAA server in your DNS database. The Mobile AAA server needs to run on a machine with an IP address and both forward and reverse DNS entries.

“Can’t manage to launch the process”

Happens if the Server Domain Name and Server Domain Realm fields in the Server Connections screen are left empty.

iaaaDiameter Error Messages

The following are some of the messages the server may return if iaaaDiameter fails to start:

setup_logfile: Couldn’t open [path]logfile.yyymmdd for logging, error 13 Permission denied	iaaaDiameter does not have write permission to indicated logfile directory	Change permission of directory Specify an alternate logfile directory
bind: Address already in use	Another process is already using the specified port number. For example, inetd, xinetd, or radiusd	Specify a different port when running iaaaDiameter.
gethostname() returned no or incorrect DNS.	Multiple Diameter servers are running on a single machine’s IP address	Specify the Server Domain Name and Server Realm Name for the server’s connection.
