Compatibility

The Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit requires the installation of supported versions of the HP-UX operating system together with Serviceguard.

The following are compatible versions with the Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit version B.04.01:

  • HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11i v2.

    Storage Management Suite 2.0 is only supported on HP-UX 11i v2.

  • Serviceguard versions A.11.16, A.11.17 and A.11.18 with the following exceptions:

    • Serviceguard A.11.16 is only supported on HP-UX 11i v1 for this version of the Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit.

    • Serviceguard A.11.17 and A.11.18 is only supported on HP-UX 11i v2 for this version of the Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit.

  • Serviceguard Extension for RAC version A.11.16 on HP-UX 11i v1 and Serviceguard Extension for RAC version A.11.17 and A.11.18 on HP-UX 11i v2 for Oracle 9i.

    Serviceguard Extension for RAC requires the corresponding version of Serviceguard.

    NOTE: At time of publication version B.04.01 of the ECM Toolkit supports the above versions of Serviceguard and HP-UX. Check the ECMT support matrix to see if more recent versions of these products have been certified with B.04.01.

    10g RAC requires the SGeRAC Toolkit. For more information on the SGeRAC Toolkit, refer to the Serviceguard Extension for RAC Version A.11.18 Release Notes and the Use of Serviceguard Extension for RAC Toolkit with Oracle 10g RAC white paper at

NOTE: Version B.04.01 of the ECM Toolkit only supports Legacy packages and does not yet support Modular packages, which are available in Serviceguard version A.11.18.

NOTE: Oracle 9i, Oracle 9i RAC, Oracle 10g R1, and Oracle 10g R2 Database Server are not supported with ASM.

Installation

The Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit is installed in the following way:

  • As an independent product, use swinstall to select the ECM Toolkit product number T1909BA on 11i v2 or B5139EA on HP-UX 11i v1.

  • With either a HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite bundle or Mission Critical Operating Environment (MCOE).

  • Using Serviceguard Extension for RAC. This manual has been developed for the A.11.18. It describes the RAC-specific extensions to Serviceguard that are used in configuring RAC clusters (formerly known as OPS clusters).

  • HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Version A.01.01 Release Notes, (T2771-90030). These release notes describe suite bundles for the integration of HP Serviceguard A.11.18 with Symantec’s VERITAS Storage Management 4.1.

  • HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Version A.02.00 Release Notes, (T2771-90036). These release notes describe suite bundles for the integration of HP Serviceguard A.11.18 with Symantec’s VERITAS Storage Management 5.0.
