Select the Capacity Advisor tab to access HP Integrity Essentials Capacity Advisor. Capacity Advisor lets you quickly and safely test potentially costly configuration changes in your data center before you actually make them. With Capacity Advisor, you can find answers to questions such as the following:

  • Is there room on this system for an additional workload?

  • Will this workload fit on this system?

  • Can I consolidate these servers as virtual machines on a single server?

  • What might my CPU demand look like next year?

  • Will adding another processor bring my CPU utilization down to 70% most of the time?

Capacity Advisor helps you optimize workloads in your VSE to help maximize utilization of server resources. It provides scenario analysis to help you manage your current server resources and plan for changes to your workloads and resources. These scenarios allow you to simulate the following actions:

  • Resizing systems

  • Resizing workloads

  • Moving workloads

Capacity Advisor provides the following additional features.

  • Automatic generation of reports.  Capacity Advisor automatically generates reports that would otherwise take many manual steps.

  • Trace-based simulator.  Providing graphs over specific data intervals, Capacity Advisor gives a more complete and accurate view of resource utilization than focusing on a single peak.

  • Ease of data gathering.  Data is collected automatically using a secure protocol and stored in a central database for analysis.
