Chapter 2 System Requirements

The VSE Management Software runs under HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM) version 5.0.2 (C.05.00.02.00.x) or later. When you install the VSE Management Software, HP recommends installing or upgrading to HP SIM version C.05.01.00.01.xx, which is included with the VSE Management Software. If you are currently using an earlier version of HP SIM, see “Before Upgrading from a Previous Version” for the recommended upgrade procedure.

	IMPORTANT: VSE Management Software is not supported under HP SIM version C.05.01.00.00.xx. If you have installed that version of HP SIM, upgrade to version C.05.01.00.01.xx.

System requirements for HP SIM are defined in the HP Systems Insight Manager 5.1 Installation and Configuration Guide for HP-UX (http://docs.hp.com/en/418810-002/). Refer to that document for the complete requirements for the CMS and managed systems. In particular, note that you might need to install HP-UX patches before you install HP SIM.

In addition to the requirements imposed by HP SIM, the requirements for this release of the VSE Management Software are described in the following sections.
