Workload Names Differ Only in Capitalization |
 |
An error occurs if you define two workloads whose names differ only in capitalization (for example, “workload” and “WorkLoad”). In this case, the Workload View fails.
Access the System View and click one of the workload names to display the Workload Definition Properties screen. Change the workload name so that it differs by more than capitalization.
Changing Between Monitored Workloads and Managed Workloads |
 |
When a monitored workload is converted to a managed workload (by assigning it to an SRD and applying a gWLM policy), the original workload definitions are not removed from the Utilization Provider. If the SRD is later undeployed or removed, the workload definitions on the managed system might not be synchronized with those on the CMS because newly created or deleted workloads are not updated on the Utilization Provider.
Select the system in the System View by clicking its check box. From the gray VSE Management menu below the tabs, select Tools
Update System Workloads. A warning is displayed to inform you that any workload definitions in the Utilization Provider that are not in the CMS database will be deleted. Click OK to ensure that the workloads on the Utilization Provider are synchronized with the workload definitions on the CMS.
Failed Updating Workloads |
 |
If you select Tools
Update System Workloads before 5 minutes have elapsed after adding a workload to a system, you are likely to encounter the following error message:
Failed updating workloads.com.hp.vse.exception.VsCollectionException: An error occurred collecting data -- query failed. An exception occurred communicating with WBEM, CIM error CIM_ERR_FAILED CIM_ERR_FAILED: A general error occurred that is not covered by a more specific error code: "Workload already exists by the name: workload name."
Wait 5 minutes and try the action again.
Error Encountered While Attempting to Modify Workload |
 |
While attempting to modify a workload definition, you might encounter the following error message:
An error was encountered while attempting to modify the selected workload "workload name". The workload's host "system name" is not currently visible. This condition can occur when a system has been removed from HP SIM's database, when a user is no longer authorized to manage a system, or when a workload name has been set to be the same as a system name.
Choose either of the following:
Use the gwlm command to delete the workload. See gwlm(1) for command usage.
If you have named a workload the same as a system name, select the SRD tab to access gWLM and rename the workload.
Switching Selected Cluster Causes the Package Select List to be Blank |
 |
When the selected cluster is changed in the cluster select list, the package select list will appear blank.
The package selection list actually contains the packages on the selected cluster. Click the list and select the desired package.
