The ACC Product provides a family of network interface cards for HP9000 systems and workstations:

  • 8-channel HP-PB (NIO)ACC Mux port transmits at speeds up to 76.8 Kbits per second (Kb/s).

  • 8-channel EISA ACC Mux port transmits at speeds up to 128 Kbits per second (Kb/s).

  • 8-channel PCI ACC Mux port transmits at speeds up to 2.048 Mbits per second (Mb/s).

  • 2-channel HP-PB (NIO) ACC Multiplexer product transmits at speeds to 2.048 Mb/s on either channel and 2.2 Mb/s cumulatively on both channels.

  • 4-channel HP-PB (NIO) T1/E1 ACC Multiplexer product transmits at speeds to 2.048 Mb/s on E1 ports and 1.544 Mb/s on T1 ports.

The ACC Product provides a high-connectivity solution with:

  • Up to eight network connections on a single network interface board

  • Remote node capability that allows programmatic requests to be routed to either a multiplexer card that is connected to the system on which the request was made, or to a multiplexer card on a remote system.

  • Up to 128 subchannels on a single 4-channel interface board.

Highly available solutions can be created using the ACC product by making use of:

  • Dual interface panels and/or cabling configurations that allow two systems to connect to a single network access point.

Highly flexible solutions may be created using the ACC product:

  • Multiple protocols are supported. The ACC Protocols for Application Developers product provides all the supported protocol modules.

  • The ACC supports multiple protocols, combinations of protocols, and data communications speeds simultaneously on different ports of the same ACC multiplexer card.

  • Custom protocols may also be developed.

  • The ACC Protocols for Application Developers product provides the protocol independent programmatic interface routines to support 32-bit and 64-bit C application development. These routines are thread-safe and support true multi-threaded applications.

  • Physical interfaces such as RS-232, RS-449, V.35 and X.21 are supported, as well as RJ45, S2M, BNC and DB-9 for the 4-channel interface.
