This chapter describes how to install the ACC software using
the swinstall utility. It also
describes how to verify that the product has been successfully installed
and is functional.
Detailed instructions for installing and configuring the ACC
product are described in the following sections:
The major steps for installing and configuring the ACC product
are as follows.
Remove the previous
version (if any) of the ACC product and ACC accessory products using swremove.
Install the ACC Mux interface card or cards on your
HP 9000 computer. (Refer to the appropriate ACC Multiplexer
Hardware Installation and Reference Manual.)
Retrieve software from installation media using swinstall.
Follow steps in swinstall (see “Software Installation” later in this chapter) to build the new HP-UX kernel
and reboot the system.
Validate the hardware and software installation
using the described procedure.
If the ACC Protocol for Application Developers is
installed, configure the ACC protocol products as described in the
User's Guide for the protocol to be used.
Read all of the instructions before starting, to ensure a
good basic understanding of the procedures.
