These messages are displayed with the corresponding card and port number.

The following two messages indicate when the E1/T1 line goes UP or DOWN. Any other events due to be logged, will be logged at this time.

Card %d port %d status: Cable or local modem fault

This message is logged when the frame synchronization is lost.

If the "qdown" option in the port configuration is set, then the line DOWN status will be reported as soon as the hardware detects the loss of frame sync.

If the "qdown" option is not in use, the line DOWN status will only be reported after frame sync has been seen to be lost for 4 consecutive 1 second intervals.

Card %d port %d status: No error detected

This message is logged when the frame synchronization is established on an E1/T1 line which was previously marked as DOWN.

The following messages indicate specific events occurring on the E1/T1 lines.

Slip Positive

The frequency of the receive route clock is less than expected. An E1 or T1 frame will be repeated.

Slip Negative

The frequency of the receive route clock is greater than expected. A frame will be skipped.

Auxiliary Pattern Indication

The auxiliary pattern is detected in the received bitstream.

Line Loop Back Status Change

For E1:

A change in the remote alarm bit in CAS multiframe alignment word is detected.

For T1:

The LLB actuate signal or the LLB deactuate signal, is detected over a period of 33.16 msec with a bit error rate less than 1/100.

Alarm Indication Signal TS 16 Status Change

The alarm indication signal AIS in time slot 16 for the 64 kbit/s channel associated signaling is detected or cleared.

Transmit Slip Indication

For E1:

Multiframe alignment of timeslot16 has been lost if two consecutive multiframe patterns are not detected or if in 16 consecutive timeslot16 all bits are reset.

For T1:

There is an error in the clock system. If the wander of the transmit route clock, which normally is phase locked to a common submultiple of the system clock, is too great, data transmission errors will occur.

Remote Alarm

For E1:

A remote alarm in TS0 is detected.

For T1:

A remote alarm (yellow alarm) is detected.

Remote Alarm Recovery

The remote alarm is cleared.

Loss of Signal

Occurs when a "loss of signal" alarm is detected in the received bitstream.

Alarm Indication Signal

Occurs when an "alarm indication" signal is detected.

Loss of Multiframe Alignment

For E1:

Only active if multiframing is enabled. The framer has found the doubleframing (basic framing) and is searching for the multiframing, and no multiframing could be found within a time window of 400 msec after basic framing had been found.

For T1:

The framer has lost the multiframe alignment in F12 or F72 format.

Multiframe Alignment Recovery

For E1:

The framer has found two CRC-multiframes at the correct interval, without a framing error. Only active if CRC-multiframe format is selected.

For T1:

The framer has reached multiframe alignment in F12 or F72 format.

Loss of Frame Alignment

The framer has lost synchronization.

Frame Alignment Recovery

The framer has reached synchronization.

Receive CRC6 Error

For E1:

The CRC4 check of the last received submultiframe failed.

For T1:

The CRC6 check of the last received multiframe failed.
