Some of the PCAPTURE messages are accompanied by an ASCII
ZCOM reason string. Additional information regarding ZCOM error
message routines can be found in 'Chapter 2 “ZCOM Error Codes”
Message 1 - Protocol
analyzer capture program <name>
- Explanation:
This message displays the revision code of the pcapture software.
- Action:
None.
Message 2 - Bad ZINIT
call, error: <reason>
- Explanation:
This message is issued when an attempt to initialize access
to ZCOM has failed from pcapture. This will be accompanied
by a text reason message from
the ZCOM subsystem.
- Action:
Address the reason and
run pcapture again.
Message 3 - Bad
ZOPEN call, error: <reason>
- Explanation:
This message is issued when an attempt to get the primary ZLU for pcapture has
failed. This will be accompanied by a text reason message
from the ZCOM subsystem.
- Action:
Address the reason and
run pcapture again.
Message 4 - Program
already running - terminating this copy
- Explanation:
This message is issued when another copy of the pcapture program is already running
in the system. This copy of the pcapture program
will be terminated.
- Action:
None.
Message 5 - Bad
ZREAD call, error: <reason>
- Explanation:
This message is issued when an attempt to read from the pcapture ZLU has failed. This will
be accompanied by a text reason message
from the ZCOM subsystem.
- Action:
Address the reason and
run pcapture again. Note that pcapture
will try zread again until
the maximum number of reads has been exceeded. Restart pcapture.
Message 6 - Max
ZREAD error exceeded - terminating
- Explanation:
This message is issued when the number of zread errors has exceeded the maximum
number of zread errors allowed.
The zread error will have been
logged before this error is logged.
- Action:
Address the zread error.
Message 7 - End
of pcapture
- Explanation:
This message is issued when the pcapture program is about to exit.
- Action:
If the pcapture program
terminates abnormally, try to correct the problems that will be
displayed prior to this message. Do nothing if it is a normal termination.
Message 8 - Unexpected
message type received <error>
- Explanation:
This message is issued when a message with an unknown
message type has been read from the pcapture primary ZLU.
- Action:
None; however if this problem persists, contact
your HP support representative.
Message 9 - Bad
ZLTSTORE for label <number> size <number>, Error:<reason>
- Explanation:
This message is issued when an attempt to get the logical
terminal table storage has failed. This will be accompanied by a
text reason message from the
ZCOM subsystem.
- Action:
Correct the problem with the indicated reason. Review the .answ file to make sure that the
analyzer related configuration is correct.
Message 10 - Shutdown
received from pdisplay - Terminating pcapture
- Explanation:
This message is issued when a shutdown message is received
from pdisplay; the pcapture program will be terminated.
- Action:
None.
Message 11 - Cannot
malloc terminal table buffer, size <size> needed
- terminating
- Explanation:
This message is issued when pcapture is
attempting to allocate memory, and there is not enough free memory on
the HP 9000 system.
- Action:
Correct the memory shortage problem and retry.
Message 12 - Get pcapture
semaphore failed: <error>
- Explanation:
This message is issued when pcapture fails
to obtain the pcapture semaphore.
- Action:
Report this problem to your HP support representative.
Message 13 - pcapture
daemon is already active, terminating this copy.
- Explanation:
This message is issued when there is another pcapture program already active in
the system, this copy of pcapture will
be terminated.
- Action:
None.
Message 200 - ZLUs
are already active
- Explanation:
This message is displayed when the analyzer is already running on specified
ZLU.
- Action:
Correct the problem and retry if it is necessary.
Message 201 - Too
many analyzer sessions are already active
- Explanation:
This message is displayed when there are already
too many active analyzer sessions
in the system and there is not enough room to allow an additional
one.
- Action:
The maximum number of analyzer sessions
has been reached, must reduce the current active session before a
new session is allowed.
Message 202 - Cannot
open <file>, <error>
- Explanation:
This message is displayed when pcapture fails
to open the indicated file.
- Action:
Try to correct the problem with the indicated reason
for error.
Message 203 - Cannot
write header to <file>, <error>
- Explanation:
This message is displayed when pcapture fails
to write the header to the indicated file.
- Action:
Try to correct the problem with the indicated reason
for error. If this problem persists, report it to your HP support
representative.
Message 204 - Error
enabling analyzer ZLUs
- Explanation:
This message is displayed when pcapture fails
to enable and activate the analyzer ZLUs.
Everything will be shutdown if this problem occurs.
- Action:
Try to correct the problem with any indicated reason for
error. If this problem persists, report it to your HP support representative.
Message 205 - ZLUs
are already stopped
- Explanation:
This message is displayed if the ZLUs are already stopped.
- Action:
Must enable and activate the ZLUs
first before they can be used.
Message 206 - Cannot
malloc() buffer for file capture data
- Explanation:
This message is displayed if there is not enough
free memory in the system to allocate for the file buffer.
- Action:
Correct the memory shortage problem and retry.
