The following messages may be logged by the watch program
via the zmlog logging mechanism: watch 2 - Cannot open
/opt/acc/cfg/zcomdevice file - Explanation:
The /opt/acc/cfg/zcomdevice is not on the system
or the file has incorrect permissions. - Action:
If the file exists, make sure it has read permissions
set for root, and that watch is being started by a superuser. If the file does not exist, it must be either reinstalled, or
recreated. It can be recreated by running zdgen, giving
it the file /opt/acc/cfg/zcomdevice.txt as
the input file and /opt/acc/cfg/zcomdevice as
the output file.
watch 4 - Cannot find
MONITOR device in /opt/acc/cfg/zcomdevice - Explanation:
There is no MONITOR entry in the /opt/acc/cfg/zcomdevice file. - Action:
Reinstall the /opt/acc/cfg/zcomdevice and /opt/acc/cfg/zcomdevice.txt files.
If a custom .txt file is being
used to create /opt/acc/cfg/zcomdevice,
make sure it has an entry for MONITOR like
the zcomdevice.txt file that
is provided with the ACC base system product.
watch 5 - More than
1 MONITOR port (mux <num>, zlu=<num>) - Explanation:
More than one MONITOR entry was defined for a given
Mux port in the .answ file
corresponding to the .tmem file
used to bring up the ZCOM Mux subsystem. - Action:
Fix the .answ file,
rerun ttgen to create a new .tmem file, stop the ZCOM Mux subsystem,
and restart it using the new .tmem file.
watch 6 - No MONITOR
devices found in terminal table - Explanation:
There are no Term entries in the .answ file that correspond to the .tmem file that was used to bring
up the ZCOM Mux subsystem. This means that the watch daemon
may not be used. - Action:
Configure one MONITOR Term entry into the .answ file per Mux card.
watch 7 - Initialization
complete <revision information> - Explanation:
This reports that watch has
been started, and it reports the revision information for that program. - Action:
No action required.
watch 8 - time interval
is <number> seconds - Explanation:
This is just reporting the timeout value that was
used when watch was started. - Action:
No action required.
watch 12 - Exit program - Explanation:
The watch program
terminated. - Action:
If the program terminated unexpectedly, investigate the
reason and correct the situation as appropriate.
watch 421 - watch semaphore
failed: <error> - Explanation:
The watch program
failed to obtain its semaphore from the system. - Action:
This could be a internal error or a system related
error. Report this problem with the printed error to your HP support
representative.
watch 422 - watch daemon
is already active, terminating this copy. - Explanation:
The watch daemon
was already running when it was started again. The second instance
of watch terminated. - Action:
