Event 2
- Severity: Information
- Description: The value of the SNMP MIB-2 object snmp.snmpInBadCommunityNames increased.
- Cause: Hub received an SNMP message with a community name that is not identical to the hub's configured get or set community name. The message was ignored.
- Action: No action required.
Event 3
- Severity: Information
- Description: The number of hubs cascaded to the parent hub changed.
- Cause: The parent hub detected the presence or absence of a cascaded child hub.
- Action: No action required.
Event 4
- Severity: Critical
- Description: The hub has detected a fan fault.
- Cause: The hub has detected a failure of one or more fans.
- Action:
- Verify that the fans are not blocked or obstructed.
- Replace the hub's fan module.
Event 5
- Severity: Critical
- Description: The hub has detected a power supply fault.
- Cause: The power supply is defective.
- Action: Replace the hub.
Event 6
- Severity: Critical
- Description: The hub has detected an over temperature fault.
- Cause: The hub's internal temperature is too high.
- Action:
- Verify the temperature of the operating environment. Cool the environment if necessary.
- Verify that the fans are not obstructed. Also verify that the fans are not obstructed by an enclosure or other device.
- Replace the hub.
Event 7
- Severity: Information
- Description: The hub has detected a change in the status of one or more of its ports.
- Cause:
- A device has been added or removed from one of the hub's ports.
- A child hub has been added or removed from one of the hub's ports.
- A hub port has been force bypassed or enabled by management software.
- A hub port has been automatically bypassed or enabled by the hub.
- Action: No action required.
Event 8
- Severity: Critical
- Description: The hub's Fault LED is on
- Cause: The hub's Fault LED is on and a fan fault, power supply fault, or temperature fault has not been reported in this polling cycle.
- Action: Replace the hub.
Event 9
- Severity: Minor Warning
- Description: The version of one or more of the hub's firmware components is too low to be monitored.
- Cause: The version of the Device Agent or the Hub Controller firmware installed in the hub is too low to be monitored.

Event 10
- Severity: Minor Warning
- Description: The value of the SNMP MIB-2 system.sysObjectID object is incorrect.
- Cause: The value for the SNMP MIB-2 system.sysObjectID object returned by the device at this IP address is not an HP FC-AL Hub.
- Action:
- Verify the IP addresses entered in the monitor configuration file.

Event 11
- Severity: Information
- Description: An attempt to read data from the hub timed out.
- Cause: An attempt to read data from the hub within the SNMP Timeout and Retry limits timed out.
- Action: Ensure that the community name configured for the hub in the hub monitor configuration file is identical to the hub's SNMP get community name. See the web page for the HP Fibre Channel Manager at http://www.software.hp.com for instructions on how to set the hub's SNMP get community name.
If the community names are identical and this event occurs often, consider increasing the value of the SNMP Timeout and/or SNMP Retry values in the monitor configuration file for this hub.Event 12
