Il rapporto di utilizzo PPU più recente è conservato
nella propria partizione. Nei sistemi HP-UX, questo rapporto di
utilizzo si trova in:
/var/ppu/PPUReport.xml.
Nei sistemi Open VMS, questo rapporto di utilizzo si trova
in:
SYS$SYSROOT:[PPU]PPUReport.xml;*
Qui
sono conservate le 50 versioni precedenti del rapporto di utilizzo.
Nei sistemi Windows, il rapporto di utilizzo si trova nella
directory in cui è istallato PPU. Per impostazione predefinita,
la sua posizione è:
C:\Programmi
(x86)\Hewlett-Packard\ppu\PPUReport.xml.

 | NOTA: Nel caso che si interrompa la connessione tra il software
PPU e l’utility contatore, i rapporti di utilizzo di PPU
saranno messi in cache nel disco - in /var/ppu/cache nei sistemi HP-UX ed in C:\Programmi (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\ppu\cache nei sistemi Windows - fino al ripristino della
connessione. Dopo l’interruzione, ogni 5 minuti il software
PPU controllerà la presenza di una connessione. I rapporti
di utilizzo PPU nella cache sono crittografati e non è possibile
visualizzarli. |

La lettura dei rapporti di utilizzo di PPU sarà più agevole
se aperti con un browser in grado di interpretare XML, l’interpretazione
di XML richiede però un tentativo di accedere all’utility
contatore a cui fa riferimento il file XML. Se il proprio browser
non supporta XML, oppure non si dispone di accesso di rete all’utility
contatore, è possibile aprire questo file con un editor
di testo, come Wordpad in Windows.
L’Esempio 4-1 mostra un tipico rapporto di utilizzo
di PPU di un sistema HP-UX. Con il medesimo tipo di utilizzo, tra
i rapporti di sistema OpenVMS e quelli di Windows possono variare
le informazioni di sistema, come OSType e CPUType. Dato che la versione
per Windows di PPU è V7.1, in questi sistemi ReportVersion
sarà 1.0 e mancherà la voce IsHPVirtualMachine.
